Hacker omzeilt HDD corruptie na ban

Sinds begin november 2009 heeft Microsoft meer dan 1 miljoen gemodde consoles met succes van het Xbox Live Netwerk gebanned. Maar het hield niet op bij de ban, want ook zorgde MS er voor dat er een aantal functie als het instaleren van games op je HDD niet meer werkte.

Maar een hacker met de naam GodzIvan heeft ontdekt dat je door een ingreep op je NAND weer gewoon games op een gebande console kan instaleren en spelen. Xlife.nl wil er op wijzen dat we niet piraterij supporten, maar ook niet de ogen sluiten voor wat er technisch wel en niet mogelijk is met je console.

Loader voor Xbox 360 draait games op elke harddisk

Er komen steeds meer hack`s en Homebrew Appz uit die de Xbox 360 naar nieuwe hoogte tillen. Zo is er kort geleden ook een XeXLoader bijgekomen, deze loader maakt het mogelijk om werkelijk elke game vanaf iedere harddisk te booten voor je Xbox 360, maar ook Arcade kan worden gestart vanaf de Loader. En dit alles draaidt zonder enige modchip, let wel op dit geldt enkel voor de xbox 360`s met kernel 7371 of lager.

XeXLoader V0.12

FreeXeX released the first public version of XeXLoader:
Introducing the first public and fully functional XEX loader for homebrew-capable Xbox 360 platforms!

Feature list:
* Launch media-patched XEXs from any storage device
* Manage the filesystems of all storage devices
* Rip any inserted game to any storage device (ISO Extraction) (Still requires patching with XexTool(info) to remove media check)

Although it should work on all patched kernels, our releases are only tested with freeBOOT using Cygnos, not with XBRebooter. Sorry for the inconvenience.

Installing the LIVE package:
1) Burned CD/DVD using XeXLoader.iso
Use the file browser to copy (using the "X" button) the directory "C0DE9999" to the 360 HDD at: Hdd1://Content/0000000000000000/

2) Transfer Cable
Use appropriate software to copy the directory "C0DE9999" to 360 HDD at: Partition3\Content\0000000000000000
Start your patched kernel, and run the game demo listed as "XeXLoader"
